AmPrep MRS-60B Unit -- High-Capacity Recovery System
The MRS-60B is an easy-to-use,
high-efficiency, high-capacity recovery
system; it is the result of Amprep's over 30
years experience in building electrowinning
systems using leading edge technology.
It is capable of capturing up to 3 pounds
per hour of high-purity gold and equivalent
amounts of other precious metals. The
MRS-60B features sixty (60) premium-grade
stainless steel plates that have sixty
square feet each of cathode and anode are.
The plates are arranged in a compact
ribbon-flow design, and are compatible with
cyanide, thiocyanate, and thiosulfate
leaches.
PROCESS
High-grade mining concentrates (fine
ground or flotation) or milled electronic
scrap are introduced in the reaction vessel,
along with a leaching solution, and agitated.
The precious metal dissolves into the
leaching solution. The mixer is then turned
off and the solids allowed to settle out.
The now pregnant solution is filtered and
pumped into the pregnant holding tank,
pumped through the MRS unit and returned
back to the pregnant holding tank. This part
of the process continues until the metal
concentration drops below 10 ppm. The
precious metal is collected on the stainless
steel plates contained in the MRS unit. When
the plates are loaded with metal, they are
removed and then scraped. Depending upon the
material being leached and the type of
leachant used, the stripped (barren)
solution may possibly be returned to the
reaction vessel and reused.
